The Parks and Wildlife Service Marine Wildlife Team are hosting a Turtle Summit on Thursday 27th June 2024 to be held at the National Marine Science Centre in Coffs Harbour.

The summit aims to:

  • increase collaborative relationships within all areas of marine turtle research and management in NSW
  • provide oversight into overlapping research in NSW
  • gain a broad overview of existing research within NSW relating to marine turtles
  • stimulate opportunities into new research or development of existing projects.

Researchers with a range of expertise will be presenting at the summit, providing valuable opportunities for collaboration and best practice directly related to turtles nesting in NSW and management of cooler temperature nests, alongside habitat quality, light pollution and other key areas for the management of threatened turtle species in NSW.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services Marine Wildlife Team projects are funded via the NSW Marine Estate Management Strategy.
